Lexcycle Stanza Desktop Now Available for Windows

Portland, OR August 7, 2008 — Lexcycle today announced that its popular eBook reading application Stanza Desktop is now available for the Windows users. Stanza has long been popular with Apple Macintosh users and is the most popular eBook reader for the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch.

This beta release of Stanza Desktop for Windows includes all of the core functionality that made Stanza so acclaimed including the best reading experience among eBook reading software, format conversions and sharing with Stanza iPhone / iPod Touch.

“Since we released Stanza Desktop for the Macintosh, the #1 feature request was support for the Windows format,” remarked Marc Prud’hommeaux co-founder of Lexcycle. “Nearly everything we do at Lexcycle is in response to our customers needs and this Windows release of Lexcycle Desktop is right in line.”

Stanza Desktop has already made major waves as an application for the Apple Macintosh by addressing the details that are often overlooked by other software readers such as hyphenation, text columnation, automatic text scrolling, and user-friendly page and chapter navigation. This Windows version of Stanza Desktop bring the same benefits of Stanza Desktop to the popular Windows platform.

Stanza supports a wide variety of formats including HTML, PDF, Microsoft Word, Rich Text Formatting as well as the major eBook standards including Amazon Kindle, Mobipocket, Microsoft LIT, Palm doc, and the International Digital Publishing Forum’s new Open eBook standard and converts seamlessly between formats. In an industry that has struggled to standardize on a format, Stanza’s conversion capabilities ensures that investments made in any format are not lost.
