I have Stanza and Kindle on my iPod Touch and much prefer Stanza. You can read books on either with a similar look, but Stanza is much more robust in terms of tools: highlighting passages, dictionary, etc. Stanza also provides a nice selection of book vendors, and free is always good. Kindle may have more books, but the last two, relatively recent titles which I wanted and was prepared to pay for, weren't available on Kindle. It all argues for a universal ebook format accessible on any reader. I would hate to see the world of books cut up and locked up by individual vendors.
I have been bypassing Stanza Desktop and using Calibre to send books to my iPhone 3GS.
Formatting, such as bold/italic/underline, links, and chapters all work great, and seem to transfer over without problem (based on the CSS in the ePub).
I'm curious though about typefaces-is the iPhone Stanza just ignoring the typeface callouts and replacing them with the nearest serif or non-serif typeface on the iPhone? It seems as though Georgia is the default, although I may have set that myself a long time ago.
I'm using Stanza to put documents onto my ipod touch as well. This is what it looks like when I add it by "New From Clipboard", using the first question in the FAQs (The quotation marks I added).

What sort of content can I read with Stanza?
OK, this is a great program and I'm trying to do something that it may not support. I want to download a morning prayer service by month into my Stanza library on my iPhone. The downloads are available at http://www.missionstclare.com/english/January/whole/download.html in text, pdf or iSilo format. I don't really want to purchase iSilo for my iPhone since it got lukewarm reviews compared to Stanza and this should be EASY. I'd like to download the file for the month and put it into a collection for morning or evening prayer, then just select the appropriate day.
Hi there,
I was pleased to see that there was a new beta available. Eagerly downloaded, installed and instantly started, only to find out, that any kind of text formatting (such as bold type and italics) is still not interpreted. It has been mentioned numerous times here in the forum that this is a feature that's on your to-do list, but I am amazed to see that you still have not implemented this imporant feature.
