Hi all,
Suddenly, I get "No Definitions Found" whenever I search for a definition.
This is on an iPhone 3G running 3.0, using Stanza 1.8.1.
Here's what I'm doing: Hold a paragraph until it goes yellow, tap the word and hit Define.
It's worked flawlessly until now.
I have web connectivity, can load pages in Safari, and otherwise all net related apps are working fine.
Maybe there's just a Stanza/dictionary server down somewhere?

The Lexcycle FAQ about Fictionwise has two apparently conflicting answers about support for the eReader format:
Hi,
I use Stanza version 1.0.0 beta 16 build #1.396, which apparently has expired but is also the newest availble.
I have a 15'' MacBook Pro with OX x 10.5.7 installed. I have an iPhone 3G with OS 3.0 installed.
I converted a .doc to pdf with Acrobat Professional. Everything was fine. I opened the pdf in Stanza Desktop and characters are missing, as far as I can tell consonants when there are two of the same kind following, e.g. "planning" became "planing". However, the error does not occur with every word that has a double consonant.
Any clue?
Thanks
sebastian
Console report:
I have an odd problem. I'm reading this book, and only for this book, the big chapters are shifted down a line, making the last line hard to read and sometimes completely invisible.
Here's a screenshot of what happens. As you can see the last line overlaps the progress bar.
Specifics:
- The book is Blindsight by Peter Watts, downloaded from Feedbooks
- I'm using Stanza 1.8.1 on iPhone version 2.2.1
To avoid excessive roaming charges on my iPhone, I normally disable data downloads while traveling overseas. Does my Stanza library fully reside in my iPhone, or does the progress bar indicate that my iPhone is searching online for parts of books that have not yet fully downloaded to the iPhone? I have the latest Stanza update (April '09) on the original iPhone.
I have an .epub book that when I open it in Adobe Digital Editions, there's a table of contents on the left side with Title, Dedication, Introduction, Contents, chapter I, chapter II, etc. When I go to Contents, it's a listing of all the chapters and the chapters are clickable, like a hyperlink, and then that takes me to the chapter.
I have several epub files that behaved perfectly under the last version of Stanza on the iPhone but since I've upgraded to Stanza 1.8 my reading experience has been ruined.
Hi folks. I spent ages learning to use Stanza along with Calibre (to fill in the library management role) and then connecting the iPhone to Calibre. Hope u find it useful.

I did a Google search for a book and it was available for download as a pdf file. I'm trying to import it to Stanza, but when I put it on the phone, I can't get past the Google disclaimer page. Any suggestions?
I really like the Stanza app except for one thing. I frequency tap close enough to the center to activate the menu, instead of the page change. Is there some way to make this less sensitive. WHen I am deep in a book, I don't always remember to hug the corners.
If not, I would vote for either:
1) Make a different gesture for the menu (drag instead of tap, double-tap)
2) Force the tap to be in the middle of the screen, rather then just the top or bottom.
Thanks, Michael
