line breaks

Poetry line endings

For poetry, line endings are quite important and there's a need for lines that end with no extra leading, just go down to the next line.

It appears the Stanza in all formats I've tried has no way to do this. It appears that always adds extra leading after in an HTML file and after LF/CR in a text file. Most other line ending combinations are ignored such as CR/LF in a txt file or just CR or just LF.

Similarly the line endings in .DOC files seem pretty much out of control as well.

Some "Lists" Thoughts

A few thoughts from a new (PC/iTouch) user.

There is really need a pc/itouch "notes" transfer utility and stanza seems to be the best option at the moment. I sincerely hope that lexcycle will take the needs for this use into consideration. The single biggest problem is stanza's insistance on "wrapping" every line break which renders list formats useless.

I have, however, found that opening a text file in word and saving it as a doc file converts CR to paragraph and paragraph breaks don't "wrap" as CR's do.

.lit book line break on fullstop

Windows Vista
Stanza version 1.0.0-beta16 build #1:396
iPod Touch

Hi, I'm having a small problem with stanza on my iPod.

It inserts a line break at every full stop, its not a big problem but throws off the flow of reading.

For example, when reading a book with peoples names it breaks after the Mr. or Mrs., so

"I ran to the back of the shop and found Mr. Jones there"

reads as

"I ran to the back of the shop and found Mr.

Jones there"

Is there anyway to fix this? I've tried using Calibre and converting to EPUB but that just removes the Mr./Mrs.

Thanks in advance

Line breaks not understood?

I have a few pdf and word documents on my mac that I assume have been created on a windows computer. If I read the pdf documents they appear correctly in Adobe Reader and Preview.app, but as soon as I read them in Stanza.app or try to view them on my iphone it looses most of the line breaks, which makes the books impossible to read.

Would using a windows pc to transfer the files work any better, or is this a limitation of reformatting the pdf files?
