Two Million Users and 12 Million Book Downloads Later, Stanza Turns 1

Seattle, WA--Lexcycle today announced that more than 2 million users have downloaded Stanza, the popular electronic book reader application for the Apple iPhone and iPod touch, since it was launched one year ago. Stanza’s award-winning reading experience, which features customizable formatting, searching, library management and over-the-air book downloads on demand, has led to more than 12 million book downloads.

Praise for Stanza

I love Stanza e-reader. I use it on my iPod Touch and my Mac. I love all the features especially those for the desktop appearance. This is a much better product than Kindle II (which I had to return for the poor contrast--that grey background was horrible). I prefer reading with backlighting now and at night in bed, it is just great reading on the iPod Touch. I don't read "real" books any more and I have been a life time voracious reader. Keep adding titles. And I will keep sending suggestions for authors like all books by Margaret Atwood or Ian Rankin.

Thank you.

Sally

No way to add chapters... at all?

I know this question or similar have been asked many times, but I have looked all around this forum and internet and I can't seem to find an answer... I got a .doc file, it's a book and I want it separated into chapters once I transfer it to my ipod touch. Ok, Stanza doesn't do it, no matter where I write Chapter 1.. Chapter 2.... and so on. I heard Calibre can do it, so I got Calibre and actually yes, it works. At least it seems to work until I open the finished epub file with stanza, again, the chapters are gone.

What new features do you want to see?

Personally, I now have over 170 books on my iTouch in my Stanza library. I'd love to see a search feature that would let me search for a book instead of trying to browse through my stuff.

Stanza Opens in Word Format

Whenever I open a PDF file in Stanza Desktop, it automatically opens it as a Microsoft Word Document with all the formatting lost. I understand that the file may have originally been created by MS Word and saved as a PDF file, but is Stanza supposed to be able to open the PDF file without converting it back to MS Word format?

epub file opens with Adobe Digital Editions but not with Stanza

Downloaded epub file which runs correctly on Adobe Digital Editions but will not open with Stanza. Error Message is

Love Stanza, thank you so much!

Hi,

Love Stanza, I have found myself reading books on the iPhone more than I do in my Sony eBook reader and the Kindle. Great Job!
