Stanza

Stanza crashes on large Ebooks on iPhone 2G and 3G but not on 3GS

We have an Ebook, that is about 24 MB big. It runs great on the iPhone 3GS with the 1 Ghz Processor. But every time I try to open the book on an iPhone 2G or 3G the Stanza App crashes and there is no reading the book. As mentioned the Software performs very well for large books on the iPhone 3GS so I guess it is not a Software issue but a processor issue.

Stanza iPhone text off top and bottom of screen rendering error

after adjusting the font and font size and margins, etc. in stanza on my iphone, any e-book I read frequently renders text split between two pages. usually it's just the bottoms of low hanging characters like , g, y, etc. and I can just read my book around it, but sometimes it's a line split entirely in twain between two pages, and requires resizing the font to fix it. the bug is easy to reproduce, happens in portrait and landscape orientations, and in fact a font size, paragraph spacing and line spacing setting that doesn't cause this issue is quite difficult to find.

Is there some workaround to this that I've missed, or is it a bug I'm encountering and there's nothing I can do?

Looking to interview people who read ebooks exclusively on their Iphone/Itouch

Hi my name is Matt Robinson,
I'm a journalist, working on a story about people forgoing Ereaders like the Kindle, Nook, and reading ebooks on their phone. And not just on their daily commute, but who read at home, in bed, etc.

Please email me at: Matthew.Robinson[AT]Journalism.cuny.edu if interested.

Thank you,

Help spread the word if you're a Stanza user.

Developers, please take advantage of this to protest against Apple's retarded policies. They thrive on publicity, and bad publicity like this is not helping their cause. With a bit of luck, it might prompt them to re-think their strategy.

Getting epub files from mac onto iphone 3Gs

I have tried the recommended gmail option - which says it can't translate the data.
I have tried the box.net option but it says it can't read the catalogue.
I have tried uploading the files to my phone and I can't seem to find a way of opening them in Stanza.

I have four .epub files on my Mac and I want to be able to read them on my iphone - but I can't find a way of getting them on which works.
Any ideas??

Thanks

Stanza on other phone platforms? WebOs? Android? WinMob?

I think it would be great to have Stanza on multiple phone platforms, such as the Palm WebOs, Google Android, & Windows Mobile. That way, you can have your books on your iPod Touch, AND your palm phone! Synching bookmarks would be AMAZING! What do you guys think? What other phones should stanza come to? Post it here!

Stanza for iphone OS 2.x

Hi

It seems that since the 17 december update the support for iPhone OS 2.x has been withdrawn. I do not request you to develop the application on the older platform but please make the old version available for download.
Although the website still states that it supports 2.x the application in app store or when itunes accesses the store i still get only the version requiring iPhone OS 3.0 or later

Thanks
Rohit

Stanza iPhone 2.0 "Catalog is Empty" error

I have been using Stanza for iPhone over a year and have setup a catalog on my personal machine that I download epub formatted books from using the Stanza Catalog format. I host the XML catalog in my local IIS and everything has been fine until the upgrade to Stanza iPhone 2.0.

System Info: WinXP SP3 with IIS 5.1, iPod Touch 2G running OS 3.1.2, Stanza iPhone 2.0 (which I reverted to 1.9.1).

fictionwise and kindle

I searched around and haven't found any topics on this... Like many received a Kindle for Christmas. Prior to this I use and still use, my Itouch Stanza App for books. I have installed Stanza Desktop and then I downloaded a book from Stanza Fictionwise, but it says "Stanza Desktop cannot read this eReader book. How can I share this book with my Kindle, too. Please say I can... I purchased it, I can unlock the code if needed. One FAQ says to open it up in the desktop and export it as a kindle and then USB it to my kindle. No, that don't work... Anyone have a work around.

Can't find my shared books in my iphone stanza library

Hi-

I'm new to stanza... followed the instructions for enabling sharing and can't see the books on my iphone. I enabled sharing, can see my computer but when I click on my computer from my iphone it says "no shared books". I'm sure I'm missing a stupid simple step but I can't figure it out! I checked the FAQ but nothing helped there. Anyone know how to fix this or can point me towards a link that might help?

Thanks!
