In order to take advantage of more advanced features and easier usability for posting questions and finding answers, we are moving the Stanza support forums to http://getsatisfaction.com/stanza. Please post new questions or problem reports on that forum. We will continue maintain the existing forums at http://www.lexcycle.com/forum/stanza for the foreseeable future in order to maintain the large knowledge base that has built up over the years, but in the coming weeks we will begin to restrict access to posting new topics and comments on the forums.
I updated today to iTunes 9.1 and Stanza Desktop refuses to share books anymore. It gives the following message:
Stanza can only share books with your iPhone or iPod if you have the Apple "Bonjour" software installed. Would you like to launch your browser to the install page for Bonjour?
I downloaded the Bonjour app, which I had already had installed. Still it won't find Bonjour. The Bonjour webpage says the newest version of Bonjour was released 3/31/10. I suspect that release broke Stanza Desktop.
Thanks so much for creating the iPhone edition of this software. It has become my favorite document reader. I do have two feature requests for future iterations of the iPhone software.
1: I'd like a preference to allow for returning to the last open document and page upon launch of Stanza. Currently the requirement of tapping through the lists to get to the currently open document is cumbersome, particularly when you have to use the iPhone "Settings" App for every little preference change. I'd like to open Stanza and have my current book open to my last page read as an option.
My first wish is if it could really control the iPad brightness. The brightness in Stanza is limited by other iPad settings/applications and it doesn't really seem to control the backlight, only the background color. This is evident by its lack of effect on the iPad status bar. Is this not possible for a 3rd party application? iBooks does it.

Hello.
Can anyone tell me how to import DJVU files to stanza library in ipod Touch?

I have an OPDS catalog set up, which requires basic HTTP authentication.
This works fine in the iphone Stanza app - it prompts for a username & password, which I can enter, then download and read my books.
On my Windows 7 PC, running Stanza 1.0.0-beta18, when I enter the catalog URL in the Open Location option, it responds with "Page http://blah.blah/catalog.xml got response: 401: Authorization Required". It never prompts me for the username or password.
Likewise, if I try the URL as http://user:pass@blah.blah/catalog.xml in Stanza on the PC, it does the same thing.
Importing djvu files takes ages on the Ipad version (a single djvu file takes around 5-10 minutes). Files take way more space than they do on the PC hard drive.
I have just downloaded Stanza for iPad and it is brilliant at opening and reading PDFs. But I noticed that those documents that I downloaded directly to iPad using GoodReader and then opened in Stanza (so no syncing with iTunes at that stage) have created an inbox which is only viewable in iTunes when syncing. This inbox duplicates the downloaded documents, which are listed under the File Sharing window in iTunes. And I cannot delete the inbox by dragging it from the File Sharing Window.
Is there any way of deleting this inbox?
I am using a Mac running iTunes 9 and OS X (10.6.3)
With Stanza 3.0, downloading ePub books from a site that has a delivery script in the form epub://domain.com/deliver_epub.php?id=2321, Stanza 3.0 sets the book's name from the script name instead of the book's meta data, but it uses the author name from the meta data.
So, I'm ending up with all downloaded books titled 'deliver_epub' by author name, author name being the correct author name.
Highly annoying.
I'm looking for some help with getting back my Stanza app. I am running Windows XP with iTunes 9.1.1.12. I have an 8GB iPod Touch with v2.2.1 OS.
I had the Stanza app (v1.9.1) and was enjoying it quite a bit, until I was on iTunes one day and noticed that there was an update for Stanza. I promptly updated it and got my iPod out.
After I had synced my iPod, I went looking for my app and found a glaring hole in its place. This was not what I had expected. I did some research and learned that this update (v2.1) was only compatible with iPod OS v3.0 and later, which I did not have.
