Stanza Desktop beta 18 released

We are happy to announce the release Stanza Desktop 1.0 beta 18! You can download it for Windows and Macintosh from http://www.lexcycle.com/download.

This release contains numerous bug fixes, including improvement in compatibility for Snow Leopard (specifically, it fixes a problem with dragging files onto the dock icon that have spaces in them).

Sometimes page turn doesn't work after upgrade

Tapping on right-hand side of the screen shows page turn animation, but than renders the same page.
Work around - manually walk to the page with slider, or search for the text on the next page.

Any ideas?

Book pages are blank after upgrading iPhone

Just bought a new 3GS to replace my 3G. After restoring the new iPhone with a backup from the old, all paid-for books in my Stanza library open up blank. Actually, to be precise I can briefly see the page I am currently reading and then it goes blank. Free books display ok.

Any thoughts?

iPhone Feature Requests

Thanks so much for creating the iPhone edition of this software. It has become my favorite document reader. I do have two feature requests for future iterations of the iPhone software.

1: I'd like a preference to allow for returning to the last open document and page upon launch of Stanza. Currently the requirement of tapping through the lists to get to the currently open document is cumbersome, particularly when you have to use the iPhone "Settings" App for every little preference change. I'd like to open Stanza and have my current book open to my last page read as an option.

When trying to enable sharing:
An error ocurred when trying to access Bonjour services
java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: Bad version numer in .class file

SnowLeo 10.6 and I tried both versions of java:
JavaVM [Java SE 6, 1.6.0_15/i386 (com.apple.javajdk16, /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6.0/Home)]
JavaVM [J2SE 5.0, 1.5.0_20/i386 (com.apple.javajdk15, /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/J2SE5/Home)]

Stanza 1.9.1 for iPhone freezing

Hi,

I have stanza 1.9.1 on my iPhone and I'm reading a book on it, and after sometime the application freeze. It seems to be a random time. I cannot change page or open the status menu, the iPhone stays on. If I press the Home button and restart Stanza, the screen stays black. I've to reboot my iPhone to start Stanza again.

I've bought that book on Fictionwise.com (not stanza.fictionwise.com) in Secure ereader format and it loads Ok with the fictionwise' ereader apps.

Anyone has an idea?

Chinese file name did show right in ny web

Trouble with non-ASCII characters

I used Stanza Desktop to open a PDF and transfer it to my iPhone. On both the desktop and iPhone display, certain characters are missing. These appear to be non-ASCII characters such as quotation marks and fl/ff ligatures.

stanza desktop only opens one chapter of downloaded book. help!

I'm running stanza 1.0 on a mac, system 10.5.8. I've downloaded The Waves from Project Gutenberg Australia (http://ebooks.adelaide.edu.au/w/woolf/virginia/w91w/). I can see that the whole book has been saved to my downloads file, but when I try to open the file in Stanza desktop, only chapter 26 opens. Do I have to import all the chapters individually? If yes, can I then combine then into one book on my iphone? Help please! Thanks

stanza desktop shoes me in a loaded epub (GO Menue) all chapters. After transmitting to iphone there are no chapters. What is wrong.
