Sharing books pdfs from computer to ipod touch

1. I downloaded stanza to my ipod touch, read Time traveller and thought wow this is great!
2. So I downloaded Stanza to my mac and followed the instructions enabled sharing and allowed anonymous sharing (just in case) I pulled up a pdf and saved it in the stanza format.
3. Then I connected the ipod touch (thru the supplied USB 2.0 connection) and after it synched with i tunes (but while still connected) I tried clicking on "shared books" from the "library" menu of Stanza pn the ipod touch. Nothing happens. It just keeps "searching......" and not finding anything.
Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Now i can see a new software which is totally different than the audio, visual & graphics applications we used to hear about for ipod.
Thanks for the post, it's really wonderful.

If none of the troubleshooting steps at http://www.lexcycle.com/faq/troubleshooting_sharing help, you might need to find another way to share by looking at http://www.lexcycle.com/faq/how_to_get_books_onto_stanza_iphone.

Same thing

Hi guys,

I have the same problem. The trouble is i don't have wifi and the only way to share books is thru USB.
How can I manage that without wifi?

Thanks,

Kyla

I am afraid that sharing

I am afraid that sharing books via USB is not possible. This is because of restrictions imposed by Apply on what can be done via the USB port.

This usually means that you

This usually means that you have something on your router or computer that is preventing the connection, but it might be something else. Follow these instructions, and let me know if you still have your problem.

1. First, disconnect your iPod Touch from your computer. Stanza Desktop communicates wirelessly with Stanza iPhone, so having them connected by USB might be interfering.
2. Confirm that your computer and your iPod Touch are on the same wireless network. (This is important!)
3. On your computer, make sure you have turned off your firewall.
4. Launch Stanza Desktop, and open your file. Make sure Enable Sharing and Allow Anonymous Sharing have the little checkmark next to them, as you did before.
5. Launch Stanza iPhone on your iPod Touch, and go to Shared Books.
6. Tap on "Books on My Computer", then tap on your book.

Let us know if you get any farther this time. If not, you'll have to change some settings on your router, and I'll give you some general instructions for that.
