Inability to save Info for imported ebooks, or to put spaces in Title/Author fields

OS: 10.5.6
Stanza Desktop: 1.0, beta 16, build #1:396

I currently have two problems with the Info for books :

1. I can't save the Info. When I close the Info dialog and then re-open it, any changes I made have been lost

2. I can't enter spaces into the Title or Author fields. If I type a space, nothing happens (or at least, nothing is displayed). I can work around this by typing an Option space, but this is hardly ideal.

Ditto

I have the same problem with old pdb files I'm trying to convert for the Kindle. It won't let me place spaces. I can't seem to figure out a work-around. Mac OS 10.5.6

We are looking into figuring

We are looking into figuring out why this is happening. Did you try deleting your preferences? That seemed to help the other user in this post.

#1. The changes only show up

#1. The changes only show up in the file once you do a Save As... (or, in some cases, Export), close the file, and then reopen the file you just created. The changes will also show up immediately on the iPhone if you share the file with your iPhone after making the changes in the Book Info dialog.

#2. We have heard of this reported once before, but we have not been able to reproduce it. Do you have a file you would mind sharing with us that triggers this behavior? If not, are you working with any particular format of file, e.g., MS Word, PDF, Microsoft Lit, Palm Doc, Mobipocket? Thanks!

Thanks for #1, link for #2

#1: I will need to do some more testing - I thought it also wasn't showing up on the iPhone via sharing either. I'll get back to you if I can reproduce.

#2: I'm seeing it with PDF files. See http://www.accelerando.org/_static/accelerando-pdf.zip for one that I can reproduce it with.

Followup: just checked further. I'm also seeing it with small (4 line!) .txt files and html files also. I've just tried when logged in as a different user, and I *don't* see the problem. I'll try deleting the Stanza preferences and let the app recreate them and see what happens then.

Further followup: Deleting both stanza.plist and stanza.container.swt.plist solved the problem. No idea how it happened. Want me to send you the deleted .plist files for analysis?

Excellent detective work.

Excellent detective work. That is completely bizarre, so we would definitely like to see those deleted preference files. I will send you an email, and you can email me back with the files. Thank you very much!
