Error when starting Stanza Desktop

I'm getting an error when trying to start Stanza Desktop. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing, and same thing: Here's the error:

"Error occured while starting the application...
no such file or directory."

It worked first time after initial install. After that I haven't been able to get it to start again. Any suggestions?

There seem to be a few different things reported in this thread. Can you report exactly what behavior you are seeing? Also, can you tell me what operating system you have?

Here is a sequence of steps

Here is a sequence of steps that has helped people. Give it a try.

1. Uninstall Stanza, Java, and Bonjour.
2. Then download and install Bonjour from here:

4. Reboot.

5. Make sure you really did uninstall Stanza. Look for it on your computer and make sure it's totally gone. Also delete any copies of the installer you have hanging around. Then download and install Stanza from here.

Is it possible that you moved

Is it possible that you moved the Stanza application out of the Stanza folder after you installed it? After you uninstalled Stanza, was there still a Stanza folder in the Program Files folder or anywhere else on your computer?

No, the program didn't get

No, the program didn't get moved after installing. After uninstalling there is not a stanza folder left. This happened once before, and the only way I could get it to work again was to completely reinstall windows (which I do not want to do again).

You certainly should not

You certainly should not resort to reinstalling Windows. I will look into this, but it might take some time. Post again if I don't respond again soon. In the meantime, can you uninstall, reboot, then reinstall? Maybe something is being cached somewhere that will get cleared if you reboot.

Just tried that. After a

Just tried that. After a reboot and install, it will load. But only once. After the first time when I try to load the program I get the same error.

Is this on Mac or Windows?

Is this on Mac or Windows? Is that the full error message? Does it exit immediately after showing the error, or does it work just fine after you get that message?

It's windows. Yes, that's the

It's windows. Yes, that's the full message, with an 'ok' button. The program does not load after the error.
