unable to OPEN stanza...

i have downloaded stanza desktop "beta" on my imac intel duo core processor running osx 10.4.8 about 5 times and let a couple of times the diskimagemounter (default) deal with the disk image mounting and a couple of times i did it myself from the finder windows itself onto the applications folder...i have "deleted the download file and "ejected" the virtual disk before, after and in between the disk copying...results? it just will NOT open, in a sec or a min or half hour...period....i am beginning to think this isn't such a good app after all...what gives?

I can't quite tell where you

I can't quite tell where you are running into problems, but it sounds like you are able to download the file Stanza.dmg to your computer. Is that correct? If so, follow these directions and tell me at which step you ran into trouble.

1. If a window doesn't open automatically after you download Stanza.dmg, double click on Stanza.dmg to open it. You'll see in that window a large icon that looks like a book with glasses resting on it.
2. Drag that icon (not the disk image itself) into your applications folder. It will copy over very quickly.
3. Now you'll be able to see Stanza in your Applications folder. Double click on it to launch Stanza.
4. You'll now see a little pop-up window that says "Stanza.app is an application which was downloaded from the Internet. Are you sure you want to open it?" Click "Open".
5. Stanza will open with a blank screen. Go to File->Open to open a book.

Where in this process did you have trouble? What exactly happened? Did you see an error message? Let us know!

opening stanza

i downloaded the file, i think it's about 34 plus mb, (the dmg icon appears on the desktop)...then, sometime in between, the "virtual disk" icon appears on the desktop (as an external disk i guess)....as soon as the download finishes, a finder window appears with both the stanza icon (book with glasses) AND the applications folder, i then drag the book (stanza) over into the applications folder, a quick copying window comes and goes (finished) and then i deleted the dmg file and "ejected" the virtual disk, opened the applications folder, double click the book and the whole window simply shakes and nothing opens....i force quit a few times to make sure nothing is working, then double click stanza....the whole window "shakes" or blinks and where's stanza? nowhere..i mean the icon is there, the app never opens, no blank screen, nothing happens, period...
