Hi all from a newbie to iPhone3G and Stanza. It looks a brilliant and really useful app. and I am looking forward to using it a lot in the future.
[iMac, v10.5.6, iPhone3G v2.2]
My first problem is that I downloaded a book "isaac asimov - robot 01 - the caves of steel ebook lit" in pdb format from another site last night. I opened it in Stanza desktop and it looks fine. I then setup my account on Stanza Books and tried to upload. I pointed to the correct file and clicked on Go. It uploaded..... but then my page said my bookshelf is currently empty.
I tried this about five times... each time I can see the file uploading ... but then .. empty.
Would anyone have any ideas on this ?
Thanks,
Saoir
No problem. I'll delete the
No problem. I'll delete the duplicate post for you.
So you downloaded a pdb file from elsewhere on the web, opened in in Stanza Desktop and could read it there, and then when you tried to upload it to stanza.fictionwise.com, it never appeared in the personal content section. Is that correct?
Since you were able to read the book in Stanza Desktop, the book you have is probably in Palm Doc format or non-DRM Mobipocket format. The stanza.fictionwise.com personal content section supports only eReader format. All three of these formats have the same pdb file extension, but they are all internally a different format. Pdb is just a file extension and not a book format.
For books that are not in eReader format, you have to convert them to ePub format using Stanza Desktop, and then transfer them to Stanza on your iPhone using the methods listed here for epub books (Sharing and bookworm.threepress.org):
