I'd love to see a port of this to the Nintendo DS (ARM chip). In portrait mode, with dual screen and touch, it would be an awesome reader for the platform. Any chances of this happening at some point?
Many of the tweens and teens I know have them, and carry them everywhere. They are much lower-cost than an iPod or iPhone, and there are getting to be more and more books for this age group available in ebook format (and reading is on the rise with this group-- let's encourage that!). Furthermore, these devices can use wireless hotspots. I'm planning to set up my daughter's DS with Moonshell (she's 15, and has been using my old eBookwise 1150 for the past couple of years), but I know she'd love to be able to browse and purchase current books via a tool like Stanza. I wish we could afford to get her something like a Kindle, but that's not in our finances, and she already *has* this device that ought to make a perfectly good reader. Take a look at http://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/Nintendo_DS, if you haven't already, to see how people are already using the DS as an ebook reader. The R4 cartridge makes this very painless. Another platform you might consider is the Sony PSP: http://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/Sony_PSP
Given that there are also manga reading programs for these platforms, if you could partner with Fictionwise to get more manga available in a compatible format, I think you'd have a real winner. (Of course, I'd just as soon see the manga and other books sold without DRM, but eReader is less annoying than many other schemes.)
I have read a lot of books on my Nintendo GBA. Sure the screen is small, but it works just fine. I have no doubt that the Nintendo DS will make a fine eBook reader.
We do plan to offer versions of Stanza for other devices in the future. We have not yet made any specific decisions about any portable systems other than Android, but we will definitely consider Nintendo DS.
Another vote for Nintendo DS
