From today's press release (http://www.lexcycle.com/press/random_house_free):
Availability
The free Random House and Ballantine titles will be available beginning today to all Stanza users. Stanza for the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch is available as a free download from the iTunes App Store or from http://www.lexcycle.com.
I found the books easily enough on the iPhone application, but I cannot find any way to download them via the web to the desktop application. Since you cannot transfer from the iPhone to the desktop, there MUST be a way to download from the web, right? The press release clearly states "all Stanza users," not just iPhone users.
Online catalog
I am a new Stanza user and I cannot find the online catalog. Do I access through my iPhone or through my Mac desktop? Thanks for the help.
The Online catalog is only
The Online catalog is only available in the iPhone version of Stanza. If you want to get books into your Mac you need to download the books via a web browser.
Unfortunately, the books are
Unfortunately, the books are only available via Stanza iPhone / iPod Touch. We're not aware of other places that offer these books for free outside of the Charlie Huston giveaway at Monsters and Critics, but you can always drop a note to Random House asking them about plans to release the books for free in other formats or for other devices by going to http://www.randomhouse.com/about/faq/index.php?ToDo=contact
Nice catch in the press release. I will update it.
Baen Free Library
Are there any plans to give access to the Baen Free library from within Stanza iPhone? That would give access to 100's of full length books. I know one could download them via the web and transfer them to the iPhone, but direct access would be even better.
Baen Free Library can be added manually
The Baen Free Library can be added to Stanza manually.
In the Online Catalog screen press the "+".
Give it a name (I used "Baen Books")
For the URL enter:

You're all set! Download and read! ;-)
Baen Free Library can be added manually
We are also trying to convince the good folks at Baen to allow us to add it to the Stanza Default catalog.
We are always working to
We are always working to integrate with more publishers, and we are actively trying to develop an agreement with Baen, in particular.
I mentioned the Baen Free
I mentioned the Baen Free library, but hopefully any solution you come up with will also allow for purchase of books from them? They are the one source from which I regularily purchase eBooks - particularly their Webscription monthly bundles of 6-7 eBooks for $15 which are always excellent value for money.
