i've been following improvements on your iphone version,
and been mightily impressed.
downloaded your newest version of the desktop product,
and was mightily disappointed. it's not keeping up...
indeed, there are embarrassing bugs in the thing, like
the fact that the chapter jumps weren't working at all,
at least on the book i had handy. (union of renegades.)
now, i woulda downloaded other books to test it out, but
i couldn't find any download capacity in the desktop app.
really? why not? another big shortcoming.
anyway, i know your iphone version is getting lots and lots
of attention, but one of the strengths of stanza thus far is
that you've got clients for the desktop, windows and mac.
if your desktop clients don't keep up, though, that's bad...
so my friendly suggestion is to spend some time on them.

The number of Stanza iPhone
The number of Stanza iPhone users far exceeds the number of Stanza Desktop users, but we do have every intention of maintaining and improving the desktop version of the software. I've passed on your comments about the chapter-jumping issues to our engineers. Thanks again for your input!

It is true that our
It is true that our development has been focused on the iPhone and iPod touch version of Stanza and that Stanza Desktop has not kept up in terms of features and functionality. We do understand that the differences between Stanza Desktop and Stanza iPhone might be surprising, but the majority of of our users use Stanza Desktop merely as a way to transcode between formats and to move content to the iPhone. In that capacity, Stanza is sufficient for most people's needs. However, we do fully intend to provide a more comprehensive set of equivalent features in Stanza Desktop that will allow users to perform the same tasks available in Stanza iPhone, including book acquisition, metadata editing, and better support for styles and formatting.
Thank you for your thoughtful feedback and suggestions. We really do value this sort of detailed guidance from our users.

really? that's interesting, that the iphone has eclipsed
all of your desktop users. i guess that's good to know...

> However,
i'm glad you added that "however", because in the long run,
if your desktop clients don't keep up, it won't be a good thing.
but yes, i know how hard it is to work on different code-bases.
so i'm not looking for miracles...
...but...
there are some serious and ugly bugs in the latest mac version,
on your chapter jumps. prev-chap, next-chap, goto-chap, _all_
of them are not working properly. shouldn't be too hard to fix...
usually when that happens in my code, it's just because i've got
some reference wrong, and it feels _so_good_ to fix it, because
then everything works the way it's supposed to. :+)
