Does Stanza work with Android in the G1?

I take it that this is no longer going to happen?

As a Stanza user back when I had an iPhone, I was really excited when I moved to my MyTouch 3G to see that Lexcycle was planning an Android port. However, I've been unable to find any news about this, and am assuming that, since this topic has been dead since August 1st, that an Android port is back off the table.

Is this the case?

I would be accepting of a statement saying that, much like Adobe DRM, Stanza for Android isn't going to happen in the near future. I'd be ecstatic to hear anything better than that. I hate not hearing anything at all. Any word from devs?

I don't know if Stanza will support Android, but you might want to give Aldiko a try. It's an EPUB reader for Android, and it looks pretty nice (although I haven't tried it yet since I don't have an Android device). It is available from http://www.aldiko.com.

I believe the official statement has been "sometime this year". I would interpret that as meaning you may have it as a Christmas present, and anything earlier should be considered a bonus. I could be wrong though :)

There is plenty of work still to be done on the iPhone/iTouch version of Stanza, and on Stanza desktop :)

That statement was from before Amazon purchased LexCycle. Now why would Amazon allow Stanza on a device for which there is no Kindle reader?

Dear Stanza Support Technicians/Programmers/Managers,

Currently in America, there is a major crisis. I believe that you (Stanza's Technicians/Programmers/Managers, referred as 'you' in the remaining of this text) have the answer and the solution. There is a significant amount of Americans (those living in America whether legally or otherwise), that have bought a recently released phone: the G1. One of the reasons these people bought the G1 is because they are smart (most... not all) and they want to stay smart. One of the ways to stay smart is to read, and that's where you come into play. Currently there is no ebook reader (worth it) available for this phone.
You can solve this crisis!!!
Our current president Obama is said it: To bring the economy back is OUR responsibility (meaning all of us, including you). You have a huge responsibility to Americans by making us smarter. I understand this is a big responsibility but you have to face it. The development of your application for the G1 will certainly benefit not only those G1 owners but the ones surrounding them. You would be participating in the rebuilding of the future of our nation. Wow! Very few things can be more rewarding than that.
Whatever you can do to accelerate the development of your application for the G1 would be GREATLY appreciated by the, near 1 million, owners of the G1, ESPECIALLY by me (one of the owners of the G1).
Thank you for taking the time to read my request and if by chance calling, begging, pouting, crying, etc. would help, also, don't hesitate to post the number so that I can make that call.

Perhaps, that could have been a consideration, for many, before buying the G1 phone but judging by the capacity of the phone and the ability of companies like Lecycle to produce quality products like Stanza, is only a natural and logical transition to follow.

We do hope to release versions of Stanza for other mobile devices, such as Blackberry, but at this time we have specific plans only for Android.

Stanza for the Tmobile Sidekick or T-mobile smartphones

Hello

I have been a T-mobile customer for 6 or 7yrs and never considered switching carriers until I realized that one can read e-books on the i-phone. OMG!!!! The only thing preventing the switch is that AT&T plans that don't compare to T-mobile.

I have been searching for an e-book reader and was saving up for the kindle but came across the Stanza platform and liked the features. Being able to see graphics as though I were reading an actual book or magazine? Nice. Automatic scroll setting which Kindle didn't seem to have? Perfect!! A NYC strap-hanger's dream come true :) And of course the fact that Stanza was available for many platforms PC, Mac, PDAs etc, If I can read an e-book on my phone this means I wouldn't need to carry around another bulky device like the Kindle which I was planning to buy. The i-phone will solve my problems as an all-in-one device but I am faithful to T-mobile. So is Stanza available for any T-mobile devices??? I have a sidekick but wouldn't mind switching to another PDA all-in-one type phone as long as I could remain with T-mobile.
