I use Stanza to convert pdf documents at work to epub format to read on my iphone/touch. How come tables with numbers don't convert? The tables are gone but the numbers are there but not in a useful format?
Ok, I did some more tests. I took the same file with tables, and saved it as HTML, then converted it to ePub with Calibre.
The tables converted correctly when viewed as an ePub, and can even be viewed on Stanza iPhone!
The problem is, they can overflow the page, unless you change the font size. So, if you can convert your PDFs into HTML first without losing your table formatting, you should be able to get them into your iPhone.
Stanza Desktop's PDF convert doesn't seem to handle table formatting at all. Actually, I'm not sure how well Stanza's iPhone can handle tables either-I don't have any books with tables in them to test.
Try using Calibre to convert your PDFs to ePub (Although the developer is currently working on a new PDF conversion filter which should really improve PDF-to-ePub conversions).
edit: Ok, I made a Word Document with tables, converted it to PDF, then converted that to ePub using Calibre. It currently does not preserve the tables either.
