Stanza just doesn't work on Mac with Snow Leopard

I have read over 20 books on my iPhone in the past year using Stanza desktop for Mac and Stanza for iPhone. Once I upgraded to Snow Leopard nothing works. I have gone through all the posts & nothing helped; turning firewall off, anonymous transfer, removing spaces in book titles. Half the time the books won't open in the desktop app and I cannot get anything to download to my iPhone. I am not running the latest version of Stanza desktop because of the problems I have read about.

I am really bummed because I use Stanza on my iPhone every day. When will this be fixed?!

Stanza desktop + Snow Leopard

Stanza desktop wouldn't work to transfer files to my iPhone in Snow Leopard until I clicked the button "Open using Rosetta" in get info for the desktop application.

Many other people are using Stanza with the latest version of Snow Leopard, so we think this must be a system configuration issue. Can you run /Applications/Utilities/Java Preferences.app and let us know what the order of the entries in the bottom half of the "General" tab, beneath "Java Applications"? If you see "Java SE 5" at the top of that list, can you try re-ordering it so that "Java SE 6 (64-bit)" appears at the top, and then reboot and try again?

I am using Stanza on the iPhone, and Calibre http://calibre.kovidgoyal.net/ on my Macbook running Snow Leopard to manage my eBooks, and transfer them to my iPhone. But I can also use Stanza desktop (Beta 18) to transfer as well with no problems under Snow Leopard.
