I'm trying to upgrade from version beta 17 to beta 18 with no success. After mounting the dmg, dragging Stanza to Applications shows a dialog box asking if I want to replace the current item. If I answer "yes" a Copy error is displayed telling me that I don't have permissions to access to some items.
I didn't find any report like this here, so it must be an unknown bug or, most probably, something with my Mac. I don't have any problems upgrading other applications.
My Mac is a unibody MacBook, SnowLeopard 10.6.1, and just a few books under Stanza library. I also have Stanza iPhone.
Are there any workaround? Should I have to uninstall first?

Hernan
Won't launch on Snow leopard
Hi,
I had been using stanza on leopard without problem, but after upgrading to snow leopard I can't get the program to run. I guessed this was down to not being compatible, so I deleted it and downloaded the latest version from the site.
Now when I try to run it, I get a pop up box saying that 64 bit operating systems are not supported, yet the FAQ's say that it is. The app then hangs and I have to force quit the app in order for it to close.
Any idea how I fix this? I've tried running with rosetta and that doesn't help and i'm running all the latest updates from apple.
in console, this is what comes up when I launch the app.

presumably this is a problem with Java on my machine? I'm on a 2007 MacBook. Help!

Delete the old version
Just delete the old version first from your Applications folder. It will ask for permission, then you can remove it.
Then you can install the new one with no problems.
Beta 1.8
Same problems as well.....MacBook is fine, I think it the upgrade bug....
Beta 1.8
Same issue. Running Snow Leopard 10.6.1. Using Rosetta doesn't work either. Same error about not supporting 64-bit OS. Java version on Snow Leopard comes with 1.6.0_15.
