Stanza on ipod touch can't see my macbook pro anymore. Does it need glasses?

After behaving so perfectly since Stanza first showed up shortly after the birth of the app store, it fails to recognize my macbook pro in the "shared books" function. And yes, shared is enabled. I've used this wonderful function many times. It's a gem.
Fine piece of software indeed, so something simple has happened and for the life of me, I cannot figure it out.
I have the latest mac os x 10.6. Stanza is up to date as always on both the macbook pro and the first gen ipod touch (1.0.0 and 1.9.1 respectively).
Feel free to point out the obvious.
