The New York Times: Stanza: “The iPhone or iPod Touch can act as an electronic book reader.”
— Tip of the Week: Turn Your iPhone Into an e-Book
Is it possible to install the desktop application on an external drive (e.g., a USB hard drive)? I don't have install rights on my workplace computer, but would like to be able to use Stanza during lunch breaks. Is there a portable version available? What would happen if I just directed the Stanza installer to a folder on my external USB hard drive? Thanks for any suggestions! Jim
It would certainly work for
It would certainly work for Mac. For Windows, it might work to just drag the Stanza.exe file onto the drive, but the computer launching Stanza would already need to have Java installed (which isn't guaranteed).
If you do try this out, I'd be interested in hearing if it works for you.
