When I download a story to my iPhone there are letters dropped from the words in the story, throughout the whole story. I've tried erasing and downloading the story again but the problem persists. It's very frustrating and makes for difficult reading. I am using the latest version of iPhone software on a Mac laptop with software version 10.5.7. Can someone help?
They are not special
They are not special characters at all. They are just regular words that come out missing a letter after I download them into my phone.
Very strange. What is the
Very strange. What is the file format the story is in originally? If you open it in Stanza Desktop and then save the file as plain text (with "File"->"Export Book As"->"Plain Text"), and then open that text file on your desktop's text reader (e.g., Notepad.exe or Preview.app), do you see the missing words? If you subsequently open that text file in Stanza Desktop and share the text file with your iPhone, do you experience the same missing letters problem?
That is probably an issue
That is probably an issue with the story content itself, rather than Stanza. If you download the story to your desktop PC and read it there, do you still see the spelling errors?
No, the words are spelled
No, the words are spelled correctly when I read it on my desktop.
I suspect these are special
I suspect these are special characters (e.g. accented characters, smart quotes) and that they are not in the font that is being used.
Apparently I can't spell
Apparently I can't spell either.
