The New York Times: Stanza: “The iPhone or iPod Touch can act as an electronic book reader.”
Tip of the Week: Turn Your iPhone Into an e-Book

issue with opening files

a peculiar issue has arisen, that is i can no longer open files by double clicking them (doing so prompts Stanza to tell me that the file does not exist), so I have to first open Stanza, then go to File>Open File, etc., to get my .epub files open. Not sure if this is because I recently upgraded my computer to Mac OS 10.6 Snow Leopard or not, but it is still annoying. Thanks!!

Can't Upload PDFs to iPhone

Lately, I am experiencing problems loading PDFs to my iPhone with Stanza. My books open fine in Preview, however, when I try to transfer them to my iPhone using Stanza I get the following error: Could not load book java.lang.NullPointerException. This has only just recently begun to happen and I am not sure what I need to do to correct the problem. Please help. Thanks.

Nothing should have changed

Nothing should have changed with respect to PDF import, but one workaround for the problem would be to just open the PDF in your PDF reader (e.g., Adobe Acrobat or Mac's Preview.app), select all the text and copy it to the clipboard, then go to Stanza Desktop and select File->New From Clipboard.

Until we release a version

Until we release a version with the fix, you should be able to open your books with the File->Open menu, which does not suffer from this problem.
