Accented Characters/ Page Breaks

I'll apologize in advance if these topics have already been covered, but I couldn't find them anywhere in the forums.
1.How do I get accented characters to show up properly? I'm moving .RTF files to my kindle and, for example, "é" shows up as "Ž". So, unless I'm mistaken, one accented character is being substituted for another.
2.My page breaks in .RTF files are being ignored. Is there anything I can do about that?

1. There are some (rare) issues with accented characters in RTF. If you open the file in WordPad or TextEdit and then save it as plain text, and then open the resulting text file in Stanza, do the characters show up correctly?

2. Unfortunately, no. Stanza dynamically assigns page breaks based on the current font size and other user preferences like line spacing.
