Hi, I am having a bit of a problem with the download all function. Every time i try to use it, it crashes.
If i try to manually download books as long as there are not more than two concurrent downloads, it mostly works. But if three books are concurrently downloading it crashes.
I tried it both with Calibre and with a catalog that i am hosting on my website that i created by using calibre2web.
The books were converted to epub by Stanza desktop
Any suggestions?
Vampires and Witches can be
Vampires and Witches can be worked in together, but I think adding Wizards in the same book might be a bit much. and have read some pretty good books dealing with different types of Wizards.

Same issue, but tested with and w/o Calibre
Having the same issue, singly books will import fine, but groups will crash Stanza.
To eliminate Calibre from the equation, I used Iphone Explorer and added the books to the DCIM/Stanza folder so that they are imported on next stanza load.
Results from my test:
With just one book in folder Imports fine
With ~20 books in the DCIM/Stanza folder import fails with only 8 books successfully added.
The "local network" allows imports to occur too fast for stanza to handle idea seems likely.
In addition to the Calibre
In addition to the Calibre limitation of not being able to simultaneously download multiple books, there is also an occasional problem with Stanza importing books in rapid succession. We believe we have fixed this problem for the next version.
I too have this issue. I can
I too have this issue. I can download 25 books just fine off of the Project Gutenberg or other free catalogs, however trying to download even as few as 13 (for example) out of a calibre catalog with crash Stanza with 120+ mb of ram still free. The calibre server does not show any errors or anything strange except no more http requests from Stanza. I can go back and download all of the books individually and they download and read perfectly.
I believe this is a problem
I believe this is a problem with Calibre not supporting multiple simultaneous downloads. It appears to be reported at http://calibre.kovidgoyal.net/ticket/3346.
Not the same issue.
I don't think that Calibre ticket is the same issue. From the description there, it seems like calibre crashes when attempting multiple downloads, but my understanding of the original post and the problem that I'm experiencing is that stanza crashes, while Calibre keeps running.
I believe the root cause is
I believe the root cause is the same, it's just that the symptom is sometimes that Calibre crashes, and sometimes that Stanza crashes. I've seen both happen.
Downloading from PG or a
Downloading from PG or a similar catalog would mean the books are coming from the internet while downloading from Calibre means they are coming just over your local network. Those would be downloading a lot faster which may be causing the problem.
This actually make a lot more
This actually make a lot more sense than it being *simply* an issue with Calibre, as Calibre does not crash, it is the iPhone Stanza application that crashes. I set up Stanza to connect to the content server over the internet instead of locally, and it downloaded the the same books properly, albeit much more slowly. I also tested the Calibre server by a massively parallel wget on every file in the database, and it slowed but never crashed, so it appears that the Stanza app cannot handle downloading multiple books so quickly, although it is not impossible that the way they interact is different and Calibre could be sending inappropriate data or the like.
That is surprising. There are
That is surprising. There are some known issues with downloading very large lists of books (e.g., 100+), but more than just a couple shouldn't be a problem. These books download fine when you download them individually? Can you also try to go to a public domain catalog (e.g., Feedbooks), and try to Download All on one of their lists of books? I'm curious to know if it has something to do with your particular installation, or the source of the books.
I also have the same problem.
I also have the same problem. Performing the testing that you asked for above:
(Running Calibra 0.6.12 & most up to date stanza from app store)
1. Yes, books download fine when downloading them individually, however if I go through the list too fast, ie. start downloading books before the previous books have finished, then stanza crashes. Calibre log shows no errors and Calibre is still running fine.
2. When testing on feedbooks, I went to popular books, loaded more results and then hit download all (there were 39 books in the list). All books downloaded successfully, although slowly.
