1. If I download a book from say fictionwise can I sync it with multiple devices? For example, with 2 iphones and 1 ipod toouch? How about different computers? For example, my deskbook and my notebook.
2. Why is the price of you books much higher than other vendors? For example "The Black Swan: the impact of highly improbable" is $28 at fictionwise, and it is $9.99 at kidle store, catherdral of the sea is $17 at fictionwise (which is by the way the printed book price), and $9.99 at kindle, Tai Pan, 7.99 vs 6.39, Shogun, 7.99 vs 6.39. I hope they are DRM free (which I doubt)! I am trying to help by buying from your designated sites rather than buying from Kindle or Barnes and Nobles, but at least be close on a price to them or let me sync them to multiple devices.
I really do not want to have 4 different readers, and buy from different stores with different DRMs. So far, Stanza is the best ebook reader for me and the most open (for format, etc.). I would love to buy from you, but when the prices are so different (28 vs 9.99!) I have to think twice. If you can't negotiate with the publishing houses please give me the option of buying from the other vendors and read it on Stanza.
The prices are different
The prices are different because amazon is selling at cost or even at a loss. Publishers dictate ebook prices to be the same as the hard-copy prices (including when new books are only available in hardback), which is what fictionwise and most other ebook stores charge. Pretty much the only way this will change is if amazon (or whatever the biggest ebook store ends up being) builds up enough customers to be able to dictate their own terms and drag the publishing industry out of the 19th century.
can we get a stanza product
can we get a stanza product that will read all the "major" ebook stores (DRM-ed or not)? and sync it with a certain number of devices (like iTunes did)
