The New York Times: Stanza: “The iPhone or iPod Touch can act as an electronic book reader.”
Tip of the Week: Turn Your iPhone Into an e-Book

iPhone in UK

Hi
I have a new iPhone and used to buy Mobipocket ebooks. Amazon do not support the iPhone in the UK so my existing books are NBG. Can I buy the full range of books for Stanza?

Right now stanza iphone can

Right now stanza iphone can do ereader DRM only (books from ereader.com, fictionwise.com, and others). Earlier this year they announced some kind of deal with Adobe to make stanza able to read Adobe's DRM but there hasn't been any mention of progress on that front since stanza was acquired by amazon. It may get dropped in to reduce competition. Or it may be coming out next week, we don't know.

Not quite sure what question

Not quite sure what question you are asking here?

Stanza iPhone is targetted at ePub books that are not DRM protected. If you have books in other formats that are also not DRM protected, then they can be converted to ePub using either Stanza desktop or a 3rd party tool (with the Open Source product Calibre (http://calibre.kovidgoyal.net/ ) being the recommended one to try). The same goes with buying new books if they are not DRM protected then you can do the same thing..

I personally have thousands of e-books that were not in ePub format for which I have used Calibre to convert to ePub just so they can be used/read with Stanza iPhone.

Whether Stanza has intentions to support any specific DRM formats in the future is not clear.
