When I open an .rtf file with my desktop Stanza and save it as an .epub file, the name of the change changes automatically to "Unknown" and the title of the text (inside the file) is
"Unknown
by Unknown"
I am able to upload these .epub files to my iPod touch and they are perfectly readable in Stanza, but they all have the same name ("Unknown").
What can I do to make sure this name change does not happen?
Is there a way to change the name of the file after it has been converted to an .epub file?
I have tried saving my .rtf files as html files and zipping them, and then converting them to .epub files with the BookGlutton to .epub converter, but that doesn't work: the files I get as output of the conversion are all named "Unknown", but they are empty, except for the word "Unknown."
Any suggestions?
Bernard
You can change the title &
You can change the title & author metadata of a book with the "Info" menu item in Stanza Desktop. Alternatively, you can edit the book's information in Stanza iPhone itself (with the "i" button that appears in the upper-right when you tap on the center of any page in the book).
For broader library-management and metadata editing functions, you might also want to take a look at Calibre (http://calibre.kovidgoyal.net), which features integration with Stanza and batch conversion & metadata editing of books.
