Hi all:
I'm upgrading my first generation iphone to 3GS but am stuck with the stanza books. I have more than 200 books in my stanza and definitely do not want to download all these all over again! How can I move all these books to the new iphone? I'm using iphone version 3.0, and stanza 1.9. Thanks for any information you can provide.

Ok, am now the proud owner of a shiny iPhone 3Gs and gagging to hand my old 3G over to my son JUST for the Stanza app! However, I have done the restore from my old back up and everything came across nicely - all apps are there but the Stanza is empty bar two default books.
I have all my books catergorised and really want to keep the info - this message was the only one I found for synching over - any more thoughts on the matter?

Did your data in the other apps also get lost? I.e., did the apps transfer, but not any of the preferences or information? If so, then it might be that all the local data got lost. If that happened, my only suggestion would be to try the restore again and see if it works.

If you restore your new device from the iTunes backup of the old device, most your books should be preserved. Note, though, that book protected with the eReader DRM will need to be re-downloaded from the source.

Before you do anything, I'd recommend making a backup of the Mobile Sync folder (that has all the iTunes backup stuff in it).
Doesn't Apple provide directions on how to upgrade from one device to another? Doesn't iTunes handle the upgrade seamlessly for you? That it transfer over your contacts, calendars, apps, etc. And with Stanza would come all its books?
