Photo Glitch/Design Flaw

Your desktop reader shows great promise. Please add an additional option so that the now default image zoom/reflow can be turned off. I find this mangles the images in my e-books and is distracting when using the desktop software.

Dear Stanza Support Team,

I am quite excited about your new reader. I have a very large library of unprotected Mobipocket e-books which I have been enjoying on my iPhone. However, while using your reader for PC, there is a "feature" which I am finding myself increasingly annoyed with. Namely, why does the reader zoom and re-flow images onto the next page?

I normally view my books in the two column format. And instead of re-sizing the image so that it fills the page via height, images are quite often resized so that it fills the column width. The height then flows onto the next page. This often leads to the image being zoomed well past its intended resolution. Further, the reflow is distracting.

I have found the overall result to be so distracting that I don't use the desktop reader for anything other than a means to transfer the book onto my iPhone; which is a shame as the desktop reader appears like a very well thought out piece of software.

Is this a glitch or was the desktop reader designed with this "feature" in mind? If so, it would be nice to have a way in which it can be turned off.

Best Regards,

Rob Oakes

The failure of Stanza to

The failure of Stanza to scale down images to ensure that they don't flow over the current column is an issue that we are aware of. We do intend to fix it, although since Stanza only supports loading a single cover image (Stanza Desktop doesn't yet support any other inline images), I would image that this distraction would only happen at the very beginning of a book. Eventually, when we support inline images throughout the rest of the book, this issue will be more pressing.

Please support images

I would just like to add my two cents for support for images. I have a bunch of books in HTML format that reference external images (such as cover art and then illustrations throughout the book). Some of my unprotected PRC files have images as well.

If you could make these display in the desktop version and yet also export to the iphone version would be awesome.

Thanks!
