The New York Times: Stanza: “The iPhone or iPod Touch can act as an electronic book reader.”
Tip of the Week: Turn Your iPhone Into an e-Book

Is there a version of Stanza for me?

I have an old Power Mac G3 B&W running OS X 10.4. Is there a version of Stanza that this ole workhorse can run?

Stanza works on the iPhone

Stanza works on the iPhone and iPod Touch... there is a companion desktop program, Stanza, that will run on your Mac desktop or laptop. I would imagine that it would run just fine on your old G3. The only requirement I see is that you be running 10.4.8, so upgrade your OS to that and you should be all set. You can download it for free from here. http://www.lexcycle.com/download-stanza

If for some reason that doesn't work, you could use any number of other programs, such as ereader, to read ebooks on your Mac.

Just curious.. is there a specific reason you want to run the desktop program?

You really don't need it if you're interested in getting ebooks into your i-device-- over the air works better for that.
