148apps.com BestAppEver: “Stanza has redefined how everyone thinks about reading on a mobile device.”
— 2008 Best Free App
I often need to adjust the brightness down or up depending on the lighting in the room (such as reading in the bedroom in the dark while my wife is asleep :-)
One thing I miss from reading books on my pocket pc is that I had a very easy button shortcut for adjusting brightness.
Is there any way to create a brightness control inside stanza for iphone so that I could easily tweak it without having to go the iphone settings? Maybe a soft button at the bottom you click and a little brightness meter pops up?
Just a thought....thanks for the great software!
Please follow the guidelines;
Please follow the guidelines; standards are good for everyone! Great job on app. The auto brightness should take care of that. I recommend setting it very low and allow the ambient sensor to adjust it up as necessary -- that works for me.
Thanks for the suggestion.
Thanks for the suggestion. We are considering putting the reading-related preferences inside the app for a future release (possibly 1.3), Apple's interface guidelines be damned :)
Apple's Interface Guidelines
Just so you know, Apple's iPhone Interface Guidelines for Developers specifically recommends that all apps put their preferences in the iPhone/Touch preference panel, not in the App itself. Stanza is one of the Apps that actually follows this guideline correctly :p
autobrightness doesnt work
The auto-brightness doesn't work the way I need it to, so being able to press a button and adjust brightness without having to leave my book just makes sense.
