you can also confirm that, 6 months in, i was noting some problems:

sadly, in spite of the huge influx of cash you received recently,
there has been absolutely no progress on your desktop version,
at least not here on the mac side.

perhaps you don't even care about the desktop any longer...
i think that would be a huge mistake. then again, who am i?

you had a lot of potential, lexcycle. but it's past-tense now...

your chapter-menu doesn't

your chapter-menu doesn't jump correctly...

i mean, gee, isn't that embarrassing to you?

support's picture

It is true that we have been,

It is true that we have been, and continue to, prioritize improvements and fixes to the iPhone version of Stanza over the desktop version, simply because we have so many more iPhone users. Also, there are very capable and free alternatives to Stanza Desktop (such as Calibre, at http://calibre.kovidgoyal.net) which can often be used to get around some of Stanza Desktop's shortcomings.

We do want to improve all versions of Stanza for all people, but you will understand that we need to prioritize the platform that has the most users.

Potential still there!

Stanza is still the best ebook reader on the i-devices! Eventually the desktop version will be improved... but for many of us, it's quite serviceable as is... Plus, most people likely get their books directly over wifi or 3g not from the desktop!

New Features

I am a new user and somewhat satified with Stanza. Formatting is sometimes problematic and even plain text books downloaded from the Gutenberg Project will have lines that cannot be fully viewed. I have used the dictionary select feature which reveals the missing text, but this is somewhat annoying to do every 4-5 pages of reading. PLEASE ADD highlighting, text comments and other basic editing features.
