The New York Times: Stanza: “The iPhone or iPod Touch can act as an electronic book reader.”
Tip of the Week: Turn Your iPhone Into an e-Book

Extra lines for diy books

Hi Everyone,

I just started looking into making my own epubs with Stanza Desktop, but get some weird behaviour.
I open a notepad text, select & copy my stuff, then go to stanza and select "new from clipboard".

Stanza imports and displays everything ok, but when I save it Stanza inserts extra lines.
Example:
Original text in stanza after pasting:
-----------------------------------------------
Title
by Author

blurb

Chapter 1
sadfasdjfh slifghle gheil
-----------------------------------------------

After saving and re-opening I get
-----------------------------------------------
Title
by Author

Title
Title
Title
Title

blurb

Title
Title

Chapter 1
sadfasdjfh slifghle gheil
-----------------------------------------------

And those extra title lines are also tagged on at the end of each chapter.

This is really annoying. How do I stop this?

That is a known issue; we

That is a known issue; we sometimes redundantly repeat metadata when we import text and convert it to ePub. There isn't any known workaround, short of manually unzipping the .epub file and editing the internal HTML, or else using a different ePub conversion tool (like Bookworm or Calibre).
