Cannot View Japanese font in Stanza/PDF

I want to view a pdf file which contains Japanese fonts (hiragana, katakana, kanji) on my iTouch. The origin of the pdf is Japanesepod101.com and it views fine in Adobe Reader etc.

When I attempt to view the original pdf file in Stanza desktop, the text is converted to a string of ascii question marks.

Could you please let me know if:

- there is a way I can view the pdf in Stanza on the desktop and on my iTouch
- if not, whether you have plans to include this as a feature in future
- if not, whether there is a known workaround.

Thanks for your great product. Sorry in advance if this is an FAQ but I couldn't see it on the forum/google.

Stanza does support Japanese

Stanza does support Japanese characters, but it does not yet support embedded fonts, which may be what your PDF is using. If you copy the text from the PDF and paste it into a text application (like Notepad.exe or TextEdit.app) do the Japanese characters show up for you? If so, then you should be able to just save the file as text, HTML, or RTF, then open it in Stanza Desktop and the characters should show up for you.

Thanks for your advice - I

Thanks for your advice - I guess the PDF I'm trying to view in Stanza has embedded fonts.

The partial solution works - I can copy/paste the text into Notepad and save out as Unicode then view in the Stanza desktop client.

Not to be too critical as your app is fantastic, but this is a bit time-consuming and loses the text edits, title etc so I'm looking forward to when you support embedded fonts.

May be worth adding this to FAQs as well?
