Changing Book Title and Authors in Stanza Desktop for OS X - Spaces not Allowed Now?

In the desktop app, when I am opening an ebook and wanting to edit the author name and book title, no spaces are being allowed in those fields. This started this week and no other changes have been made to the system. I redownloaded the desktop app in the hopes that it would fix whatever fault suddenly appeared in my install, but to no avail. I can edit the title and author fields in the iphone app (fortunately). Any suggestions? I verified that the epub file has not been locked/write protected. Thanks!

Figured out a fix for me....

I had the same problem after upgrading to the latest version of Stanza. I fixed it by blowing away the two stanza files in ~/Library/Preferences, must be some gunk in there from older versions that confuses the latest. (The two files are stanza.container.swt.plist and stanza.plist)

Hope it helps other people....

Thanks - I have had this

Thanks - I have had this problem for the past couple of months and it is really irritating. The new Stanza Desktop didn't fix it. I tried looking for the two files you mentioned but there were no stanza related files in /Library/Preferences - I really had my hopes up for a sec! :)

You missed the tilde (~) in

You missed the tilde (~) in the path: they are in ~/Library/Preferences, not in /Library/Preferences ("~" means your home folder). A subtle difference, but an important one.

No Spaces Here

Same here - no spaces allowed. Running on OS X 10.5.6.
Also, while the info can be entered, it does not update the book either in OS X or on the iPod Touch. I still get Unknown (author / title) on both platforms

Same problem here - it's been

Same problem here - it's been happening for a month or so now. Looking forward to an update on Stanza Desktop for OS X! :)

What happens if you try to

What happens if you try to paste in spaced? E.g., if you copy "My Book Title" to the clipboard and then paste that text into the title field, what does it show up as?

Nope, doesn't work this way

I've done this many times over the last month, including today and spaces are accepted just fine.

I just tried, and am able to

I just tried, and am able to enter spaces into the metadata fields without any problem. Is the space simply not accepted? If you copy a space character (e.g., from TextEdit.app) and try to paste it into the text field, does it work? Do you have any system-level extensions installed that might affect text entry on your system?

Mine works the same way... no

Mine works the same way... no spaces allowed. But I do not remember if it worked that way before or not. Unless you download an update of the Stanza desktop, I'm not sure how the behavior could have changed! Maybe it's always been that way?!
