Reproducible crash! Subject folders with 37, 49 crash Stanza

I open up such a folder, scroll down a ways, then tap the Subjects button. It returns to the subjects listing and within a second or two, crashes Stanza.

A subject with 25 items does NOT crash it.

I have checked this several times... I also did a complete power down of the iPod Touch 2G, restarted it, and it happened again.

Thought you all should know. Maybe someone else can confirm-- or report that it doesn't happen to a subject folder with 37+ items on their iPod.

Stanza crashes on iPhone and iPod Touch

I tried to open the ebook Brisingr on my iPhone 3G, it's loading for a super long period then crashes before successfully opening the ebook. Same thing happens when I try the same attempt on my iPod Touch.

Just tested this on an ipod touch 1G and could not reproduce the error. I've tested it with a subject with 42 titles and one with 69, no crashes with either.

Hmm... just to confirm, did you scroll through the subject list several screens before tapping Library? That step is required to produce the crash on my 2G. But if you did do that, then it could be something specific to an iPod Touch 2G. Well, I'm wasting time at the moment, so maybe I'll try moving ebooks to a different subject category and seeing at what point the crash is triggered!

If I remember my old Basic programming exercise (guess the number or sorting), one does this by cutting the number in half each time.

Well, I took the one with 35 ebooks and it crashed at various stages (33, 27), but did NOT crash when I reduced it to 24. So, it's likely that 26 or 27+ is the trigger.

Thankfully, Stanza allowed me to retitle the temporary category with the same name as the original one (Short fiction) and restored them in one fell swoop! Nice feature that. Alas, after restoring them, then entering the subject, and scrolling down, then tapping Library, it CRASHES! Absolutely reproducible!

I can confirm I scrolled

I can confirm I scrolled through several screens before hitting library, I have also tested this on my iphone 3G (I bought the touch a long time before the iphone in case anybody wonders why I have both!) and also could not reproduce the crash. The iphone is a 16GB model and the touch is an 8GB model.

I only tested the iphone with 42 titles in the subject as I only really use the touch as a reader and couldn't be bothered transferring the 69 titles from the other subject to test that as well.

I have a friend with the iphone 1G I will get him to test this as well.

Stanza freezing

I have discovered that Little Dorrit downloaded from the Gutenberg project freezes on Chapter 36. I think it has something to do with this chapter apparently having 9331 pages. Any ideas what I should do?
