The New York Times: Stanza: “The iPhone or iPod Touch can act as an electronic book reader.”
Tip of the Week: Turn Your iPhone Into an e-Book

Mobipocket book bought on Fictionwise.com

I purchased a mobipocket book from fictionwise.com not stanza.fictionwise.com. and I cannot get it to download to stanza app on the itouch.
I have itouch 2nd gen and windows xp and latest app of stanza. Any information or help to get this into the itouch would be appreciated. TIA.

One Corporation

Isn't that interesting: Mobipocket is owned by Amazon, Lexcycle is owner by Amazon. So all one corporation, yet the reply from "support" does not contain the phrase "Mobipocket will be fully supported with the next release of Stanza".

Mobipocket

When I downloaded the Stanza app from iTunes, in the description it said that you can transfer files from Mobipocket to your iphone through the Stanza desktop. Is this right?

Mobipocket

It is correct with one caveat. Stanza Desktop can only handle DRM-free Mobipocket files. If the file has Digital Rights Management on it, Stanza Desktop can not read it and consequently can't convert to something that Stanza iPhone can read.

The problem is that Stanza

The problem is that Stanza iPhone doesn't support Mobipocket files; we only support ePub and eReader files.

If the Mobipocket file doesn't use DRM (what Fictionwise calls "multi-format"), you can download it to your desktop, and then open it with Stanza Desktop and then share it with Stanza iPhone using the instructions at http://www.lexcycle.com/faq/how_to_get_books_onto_stanza_iphone.
