Export As greyed out

When I open a pdf file in Stanza, my "Export as" from the file menu is greyed out and hence I cannot use it. I enabled sharing and anonymous sharing and also plugged in my kindle. Looked through the FAQ and did not find anything that fits. Also browsed through the forum and couldn't find anything there either. Please help.

How did you open the file in
How did you open the file in Stanza? Did you drag the icon of your PDF file onto the Stanza window? Or did you go to File->Open menu to open the file?
If you dragged your PDF onto the Stanza window, then Stanza launches an internal PDF viewer to view the document. You can't export at that point because you are viewing the PDF in a PDF viewer rather than Stanza. Try using File->Open to open the file in Stanza. THen you should be export.

I am trying to convert a pdf file for my kindle, but my "Export As" item in the file menu is greyed out and hence I cannot use it. I enabled sharing and anonymous sharing, plugged in my kindle... I am using the latest version.
I also looked in the FAQ and support forums, but could not find anything...
