Tip of the Week: Turn Your iPhone Into an e-Book

Download Multi-Pages text/HTML books

I have several txt/HTML books that are organized by folders as chapters so about 100+ actual text files -My question is how do I get these books on the Iphone? - I understand how to get a single file book on there and could do the same for all 100+ files but wanted to know if there is an alternative way of getting these books on the iphone?

Stanza Desktop does not

Stanza Desktop does not currently support multi-file import. Once possible solution could be to simply append them all into one big HTML file and see how Stanza handles it. One way to do this would by the open Terminal.app, cd to the directory in which the HTML files reside, and do something like:

cat *.html > ~/Desktop/mybook.html

For the chapter sequence to be correct, the names of the HTML files would need to have the same alphanumerical ordering as the chapters.

is there any other way to get

is there any other way to get books on the Iphone like changing the shelf server? What about SSH? how would I go about making the book into the correct format so that I can just SSh it?

Currently, the only way to

Currently, the only way to get books on the iPhone is by opening them in Stanza Desktop, which handles converting them from whatever format they are in into one that Stanza iPhone can understand. We are looking into ways to make it more convenient to allow sharing with large folders, but for the time being you must have the book open in Stanza in order to share it.
