Reminder of Why We Do What We Do

Today, I had a reminder of why we do what we do here at Lexcycle. No, I am not referring to our mention in the NY Times though making the print edition of the Times is always cool. I am not even referring to our press release announcing that we've passed half a million users. We are truly proud of that accomplishment, and we are grateful to our users for the feedback that has allowed us to continuously improve our product such that we could hit the milestone.

The reminder I got was in the form of an email from Tammy. The gist of the email is that Tammy is partially sighted. Tammy usually needs a large print font size. "I saved my $ & bought an iPhone not because it was a "cool" gadget (though it IS way cool) but because it was so legally blind friendly. My first computer! I wish you understood the independence this & STANZA has allowed me & other multi handicapped people."

We built Lexcycle to be a business, and we absolutely intend to build a tremendously successful business. We also knew that along the way we could encourage people to read more, we could help people that had physical challenges, and we could be good for the environment. In a world where I am working so hard to compete and help Lexcycle be successful, it is always nice to hear that we are making a small difference in someone's life by bringing Poe or Stoker or Shelley to them.

Thanks Tammy for thanking us. You have no idea how much your email made our day.
