We are real excited to announce that a number of Pan Macmillan titles are now available as a free excerpt through Stanza's Online Catalog and those books are available for purchase from the Pan Macmillan website. I've included detailed instructions below for those of you who are interested:
- From Stanza's Online Catalog, choose "Pan Macmillan Tasters".
- Pick the excerpts that you want to download.
- If you enjoy what you've read, you can purchase the entire book by visiting the Pan Macmillan website from your desktop/laptop machine (not from the iPhone browser)
- Once you have gone through the purchase process on the Pan Macmillan website, you are ready to transfer the book. Make sure you purchase the Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) formatted books. This is the ePub format.
- Download the book onto your desktop or laptop machine.
- Open one or more of the books you've purchased from Stanza Desktop. If you don't have Stanza Desktop, you can download it from http://www.lexcycle.com/download.
- In Stanza Desktop, enable sharing by selecting the "Tools" menu, and ensuring that the "Enable Sharing" menu item is checked.
- Ensure that your iPhone is connected to the same wireless (Wi-Fi) network that your computer is on, and then launch Stanza iPhone.
- From the top-level library menu, select "Shared Books". You should see your computer name in the menu that appears, click the name in the menu.
- Stanza Desktop will notify you that your iPhone is attempting to connect to your shared library, and request your permission to allow the connection. Grant permission; Stanza iPhone will display a list of books, one for each window currently open in Stanza Desktop.
- Click on the book to download it onto your iPhone and import it into your library for later reading. You may need to delete the excerpt before downloading the book to your iPhone.
If you run into problems with sharing, please refer to http://www.lexcycle.com/faq/troubleshooting_sharing for common solutions to issues that users may encounter.
