Update: Hunted is now available... http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=306339...

Lexcycle has worked with Macmillan Publishing imprint St. Martin's Griffin to create the Hunted iPhone application. Written by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast, Hunted is the fifth installment in the popular House of Night series. Users can purchase the Hunted iPhone / iPod Touch application at the iTunes App Store shortly after midnight tonight, giving Zoey fans an opportunity to check out what she's up to. The application created by Lexcycle and based on the popular e-book reader Stanza, allows readers to totally customize their reading experience including setting fonts, background colors, and foreground colors. Also introduced in this application are a variety of new features that are forthcoming including:

  • one-tap bookmarks (by tapping the top right corner of the screen)
  • graphical indicator showing where the reader is in the book
  • text indicator showing how far the reader is in the chapter and the book
  • the ability to specify a night and day theme for preferred reading styles in bright light and dark settings including the appropriately named "vampire" theme (red letters on a black background)
  • full book text search
  • "dimmer switch"

Comments

There are handful of

There are handful of languages out there where the text is written right-to-left (RTL) where the writing starts on the right side of the page and finishes on the left. Stanza iPhone / iPod Touch doesn't officially support RTL as we haven't done enough testing on it but we are starting to get reports of Stanza working quite well with RTL languages e.g., Hebrew and Arabic.

images on epub

Also will love that images can be viewed on epub format. How does Kindle app to show images on comics etc?

Images have always been

Images have always been supported in ePub format. In fact, most ebook formats support images just fine, though I believe that Kindle does not support tables.

Stanza Desktop doesn't display images in ePub format, but Stanza iPhone does. If you have a native ePub file or a file converted to ePub using Calibre, you'll be able to see images in Stanza iPhone.

waiting for fourthcoming features

Really love Stanza, and I wait for have this features on my Stanza settings on iPhone!
